This topic is a bit different from the normal ones, today, I’m talking about CIU from how it was made from years up to now. Think of it like a Youtube video but in text format, feel free to read it whenever you want.

Let’s start!
The forum before the public eyes
In June 2018, there were around 5 topics, 4 of them are category related:
What happened to them is unknown, were they iA? Were they a different person? That’s a story for another day.
In July, the first teaser was dropped to public:
Imagine how CI fans were amazed at the time. There were new planets? And a whole galaxy?
This is like a dream! Now we get out of the structured patterns of the Episodes and go to whatever planet we want! Even Space Burger!
As we know, CI5 bg was temporary and got changed to the purple we all know today.
In August, the forum is now public and more stuff to amaze the fans!
Before the Early Access
In the same date, the first Plan Update got released to tell the fans more about the game:
What’s Plan Update? It’s just a topic made by iA to tell about any changes/progress to CIU.
Let’s take a look there!
I’ll go to the parts where I see interesting to discuss about only, if you want to see yourself, the link is already above.
In the topic it’s mentioned about the multiplayer that it isn’t going to be in the game and instead the global ranking still exist.
The details about Chicken Hunter License are also there:
Wait a minute, does that mean to get an email you have to buy an CHL? Apparently, Yes.
Good thing it got changed to how it’s currently (anyone can set emails without need of CHL.)
Plan Update #02
Few days later, the new plan part dropped:
In short, it’s about there are new ideas and even a guide to how to make your own.
And with that, so many ideas are posted to public, there was mix weapon idea, there was new ship skins, and more!
And the best idea so far, a category for ideas!
Yes, it didn’t exist back then.
Now we have a new category for ideas, however the ideas are still posted to the version threads, even today.
Plan Update #03
A week later, the new plan update dropped:
Nothing interesting so far, we only have few stuff:
iA will heart a post if he wants to add an idea to the game ,he later stopped doing that but still hearts stuff which are outside of suggestions.
It was planned to barely just add CI5 bosses, enemies but later, more stuff will come, CI4, CI3 stuff.
Plan Update #04
In the first days of September, a new plan update dropped:
Nothing actually new, warping!
Plan Update #05
Before September ends, a new plan update dropped:
Now we have more stuff and maybe the game will return to normal development this way, at least we have a new teaser!
And yes, the Heroes Academy returns!
For who didn’t know, Heroes Academy was going to play ar role at CI5, what was the role? It’s unknown. But I guess It’s something like Mad Madmam Madamme’s role.
And hey, take another look at the teaser, there’s a new ship!
As we know, it’s just H&C ship but with different paintjob, it was leaning more to orange.
And if you noticed, the icons were a bit different:
And the number color is white instead of black, Personally I’d prefer the white more than the current one.
Plan Update #06
In the first days of October, the new plan update has been released:
All what’s about is the equipment we all know and saw in the galactic store. There are some differences:
The difficulty icons had way more stats than SSH, which means there were more planned skills to add ig.
Extra Life icon had + in it.
Shockwave Capacitor used Diemenalonal Phase-out icon while Dimensional itself didn’t have an icon.
That’s it so far for this plan.
Plan Update #07
Before November, iA posted another plan update:
Remember when iA said there will be CI5 content only then the other ones? He changed his mind, now CI4 stuff are coming with the first build to “fill the gaps”.
On the bad side, we’ll have to wait more until the first early access version comes…
Plan Update #08
In first days of December. the pre-last plan update was posted.
We’re about to end the year but there are more stuff to talk about. There’s a new thing coming, a teaser coming!
Now we have more stuff to know about CIU!
Now, we have the new background applied, not just that, there’s more!

Now fans reaaaallly want the game to play the game, we’re almost about to end the plan updates. The FINAL update:
Plan Update #09
So, far the game is about to be playable and open the Early Access phase! There were some reasons of delays:
For who didn’t know, there was someone in forum called ChickenInvadersFan72.
Which was normal at first, but it got bigger and did some stuff I can’t even mention… (because I don’t know what he did… I wasn’t at the forum at the time) (:
And even after that three are more stuff await to be added to the game later on.

Police… Hmmm, looks like it was planned waaay eariler than we though.

First Early Access Build
And FINALLY, THE EARLY ACCESS IS HERE!!!
Before starting, iA talked a little bit about the "First Impressions’ What does that mean?
It means how the player would feel to the game and then apply it for the rest, if it was good, the impression about the game will feel better.
That’s also why there were some buttons for reporting or suggesting stuff IN-GAME!
How long has it been? Almost 8 years now.
Honestly, if it’s possible for us to get back to how the game was born, it’d satisfy us a lot, by looking at how basic it was, and how much the game changed, while maintaining the same core of its own.
It doesn’t matter that much, it looked more of an additional copy, and as I remember, the reason of this ship deletion is that there were 4 ships, and turned to 3 to be consistent with other ships.
Plus, for balance purpose. Before being removed, bx-9 power limit was 20 (compare to 18) which also means you get +MAX power level right after reached 20 instead of 28 as of now, there is +MAX power when reached 30 but that doesnt do anything (it only affect boron but thats a long time ago). The same thing for BX-8 (18, +MAX 28) and BX-7 (16, +MAX 26) too. BX-6 is, too, same behavior like BX-7 (14, +MAX 24) but with 2 satellites slot and a double exhaust for good looking purpose.
