Oh my gosh, it’s nice to see they finally expanding the modding for the episodes like text changes into patches!

cooking is really peak, we are so freaking back.

also, there will be further plans to bring steam compatibility for text patches? (tgu, tgu2, wood man)

text changes have been possible the entire time, its just that no one thought of using patch files to send them over. they only work on one specific version of the games (latest iA versions for CI3 and Ci4, latest steam version for CI5)
further version compatibility depends on how much effort the modder is willing to put into it. i think these patches are enough, dont feel like making more patches for different versions

heh, fair enough take your time.

who knows.

I made a quick mod, also mark the time i quit CIU for Graduation

Well…
This took me longer than planned, I hope you like it, each episode has its own thing in terms of soundtracks.

I really enjoyed making these mod variations
I will upload curiosities and other aspects to consider from each episode.

I hope you enjoy them a lot.
Otomedius in CIU | for Episodes 2, 3, 4 & 5! :heavy_heart_exclamation:

Regarding episode 1, I’ll see what Soundtrack I’ll add later.
I have to focus on my studies, because of exams and stuff like that.

When I have time I’ll upload the last mod of the episodes.

Remember that the mod is focused on gameplay, not cinematics.

&…
:sparkling_heart: Thank you very much for the support in the survey and in general in everything!! :sparkling_heart:

Bro, why do you advertise your mod in almost every CIep BETA topic :skull:

I’ll have to agree with Thai here. That was an unwise move. It’d be best if you list all the details regarding each episode just in this topic instead of making multiple small posts in the other threads.

Because I would like more people to try the mod and at the same time, find out another bug that can contribute to the beta.
Continue…

Mmm, you have a good point, I thought it was better to do that, you know, as a kind of publicity and encourage testing of betas.

I’ll take care of transferring all that to this post right now.

Thanks for letting me know my mistake

Curiosities of the development of mods

Mod for CI2 BETA

I added a little variety in some things like in β€œHen Mother Ship” a dialogue that tells you about her being scattered and that her location was lost.
I added dialogue when you get a special or extra life.
For the cinematic I added the same soundtrack that is in the CIU mod, because I like how it conveys mystery, in my opinion xd

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Mod for CI3 BETA

For the soundtracks, I considered those of Emon β€’ 5 which are based on Thunder Cross, which I feel, sounds somewhat similar to the context of the CI3 story

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Mod for CI4 BETA

The soundtracks were based directly on Madoka from Otomedius as well as in the CI3 mod, they are based on Twin Bee. Except for the black hole waves.

β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Mod for CI5 BETA:

Here I took more liberty, because I added a soundtrack from Gradius V as the main theme and I adapted the other soundtracks for the planets that the Hero visits.
As an example:

Epsilon Thalassus:
I wanted to play the theme from Dancing Venus because I related it to something aquatic. But so as not to coincide with another soundtrack that I gave more priority to, which will be mentioned later.

Gamma Chthon:
Here I made a remix between Crystal & Into The Volcanic Cage just to give a little variety to that song that sounds repetitive at times.

Eta Astropelecae:
I put the soundtrack of Crystal Labyrinth
because I thought it was ideal for the wind and of course the freezing weather

In waves 100 - 110:
I considered Infinity soundtrack because to me it sounded like when you’re close to finishing something in this case, to put β€œHumanity’s Greatest Fan”.
Apart from that, it looked good with the final cinematic.

And with the final boss, I feel that the most appropriate soundtrack is Fighter
Since this conveys a very personal final confrontation between the CK-01 Henterprise & The Hero

A little update for The Great Unknown mods!
First of all, the credits files now include all music tracks included in each of the collabs. You can find the credits files in each mod’s google drive folder.
Second of all, The Great Unknown 3 got minor text changes. Not sure if you can apply the new patch file to the old TGU3 CI5.exe file, so to make sure it works, just apply the patch to vanilla Steam version of CI5.exe.
And third of all, perhaps the biggest announcement, is that the mods are officially getting a movie! It will be shown on Saturday in the evening. This movie contains all the cutscenes from every single TGU mod (so far), with no gameplay in-between! Link for the movie is here.
