well that’s disappointing, i was hoping for something like the old episode versions where only the officially distributed PC versions had multiplayer. if someone wants to play multiplayer then they’ll have to get CIU and deal with ads there (assuming only the license removes ads) as well as potentially NAT problems (i don’t remember if episodes had this problem as well). there are feature discrepancies between the CIU version and the episode, as CIU doesn’t have the extra missile/extra life mechanics and is missing some of the extras that were added here like different clothing styles, the different space supremacy ship ability and the gameplay modifiers
at this point i feel it’d be better if you were able to sign into your CIU account within the episode (at the cost of making it always online?) to be able to keep progress between different devices. it would be nice if keys were tied to your CIU account’s keys, so that getting keys here would contribute to it, and you would be able to spend those keys on the unlocks here. medals and statistics could be kept separate per episode, but this would turn the CIU account into an all-encompassing chicken invaders account
I don’t know if it’s just me or are the mouse controls acting a little bit finnicky? It seems to impact strafing left and right - the spaceship doesn’t precisely follow the mouse and it causes to suddenly jump in speed from one point to another. It doesn’t impact menus, it’s working flawlessly as it should. I also tested if this issue was present in CIU but it’s completely absent from there.
Here’s a clip of me showing the aforementioned problem. And no, this doesn’t seem to be a problem with my mouse. This issue persists only when the Capture Mouse option is enabled. Can anyone test this and see for themselves? I just want to make sure I’m not going insane or anything, hahah.
What you describe as “finnicky mouse controls” could just be that the sensitivity is set too high. Have you lowered it in CIU? Try doing the same in this game as well.
Here’s another clip of me doing it with the sensitivity bar adjusted to an absolute minimum.
You can see the spaceship suddenly snap to the right at the end of the clip.
16- For some reason, your starting chapter won’t save, for example, my starting chapter was “The Sun” and I changed it to “The Asteroid Belt”, but if you reload the game, the chapter won’t be saved, as if I hadn’t changed it;
There’s a key display at the bottom of the HUD now.
Changed in v.2 Idea
I got other drops too.
Added to v.2 Idea
Allowed.
I see pecking orders.

The “unlocked” icon shows that the weapon is available. But I can see why this is confusing.
Changed in v.2 Idea
Why not? The only way to mount it is to start with it, however (it will never drop in-mission)
Unnecessary. It’s included in the build number top-left.
You can skip this by pressing ESC and then “skip >>”
It’s practically the same as CI2U (CI2 re-implemented within CIU). So “Anniversary-like mission” is more appropriate.
Although this has been changed, the game will still need to restart. This is because it needs to replace already-loaded assets with seasonal ones.
Fixed in v.2 Bug
I see it’s displayed.
I’m aware of this, however it’s too fiddly to precisely separate out the assets, and there’s always the danger that I’ll omit a used one and the game will crash whenever it’s needed. Will try to clean it up more, though.
The description does say “Provides an additional satellite slot to your spacecraft”, but… changed in v.2 Idea

What do you mean? Mission progress is automatically saved. If you force-close the game (Alt+F4), or if you press ESC and then “disconnect”, then you should be able to resume your mission the next time.
Buttons are rounded. Option lists are square.

Only languages with 90%+ translations are included. Arabic has 91% in CIU, but due to the new phrases this dropped below the threshold.
Fixed in v.2 Bug
I don’t think it does. Only surrendering does.
I’ll look at this later
These are two different font sizes, so it’s possible. I don’t have any control over it anyway.
I disagree with that, but I understand why, but let’s just leave it at that since it’s not a big deal.
Well the fun thing is both are correct and maybe it will shift into spacecrafts being the more common one.
Sure, but I had to ask since it’s a different type that only requires one computer.
So, once again a mobile version is restricting the PC version? You do know that it’s possible to make some functions only for one platform?
Have you at least tried to contact Steam Support? (Jeremy™)
Generally steam should be possible but it depends how you’re tackling it.
Few examples from my mind:
Skyrim Special edition - If you had Skyrim and few specified DLCs for it you got this new edition for free.
Evoland legendary edition - if you had evoland 2 you got this new edition for free
Goat Simulator Remastered - it is said that you will need to buy it for full price even if you had normal one with all DLCs.
It’s really best to consult Steam Support how to handle it, but first decide if a player needs all DLCs or not.
I’m more sad about CI2 neutron gun. The new one is sht compared to the old one.
+1. To be honest right now I don’t know what exactly is this supposed to be. Does this remake mean that the episodes will no longer be updated and will be archived like the old CI2 version or will they be a separate entry and the old episodes will continue to exist and receive technical updates? I sure hope so because the episodes don’t have all the features that old versions had.
That was one of my proposals in this topic: Chicken Invaders Universe episodes DLCs framework
It doesn’t necessarily require you to only choose one. Playing online keeps your progress, but you can still play offline just that it won’t transfer to your account.
That will be the case when episodes come to CIU as a DLC. All episodes in one place, in one game, on one account.
Well now I’m even more confused what is this project? Update to old games or a new entry?
Does it restart by making the game silently crash? Because I have crash.CIep2.log file, but it never crashed.
In case you agree to add this rule, i want to suggest to you that each difficulties should have the different target to collect a special weapon, or an extra live. Here is the detail:
1- Score target for collecting a extra live:
Tourist/Rookie: 1M for each extra lives
Seasoned: 2M for each extra lives
Veteran: 3M for each extra lives
Virtuoso: 4M for each extra lives
Superstar Hero: 5M for each extra lives
When you use a skill that not Tourist or Rookie, your score will be increased a lot. And that why i suggest this for balance the game(is it necessary for you to bring a lot of extra lives?)
2- Number of food items target for collecting a special weapon item:
Tourist/Rookie: 50 food items for each special weapon items
Seasoned: 60 food items for each special weapon items
Veteran: 70 food items for each special weapon items
Virtuoso: 80 food items for each special weapon items
Superstar Hero: 90 food items for each special weapon items.
I can explain to you that why am i want this. We are now can collect the food easier than the old game, i think you already know this if you played CIU for a long time, and newbie player can learn how to collect the food more easier. So… there is no necessary to keep a lot of special weapons in your hand like the old games, since all weapons are balanced now.
i think the addition of more valuable food makes special weapons much easier to get than in the original/remastered ci2. therefore i suggest that they get locked behind an option similar to weapons/satellites from the future.
