So why does it not disappear completely but so faint

Known (and not a bug). The galaxy is zoomed out to a fractional level (this happens because it zooms out just enough to show your travel trajectory):

Known/intended. The camera may zoom out fractionally in order to show the whole trip.

When taking a screenshot, do not show the amount of over heat and the amount of power ,
