Early Access version 118


Yet another another unexpected update (so I guess this makes it an expected unexpected update?). The main addition are Budget Constraint missions. These are daily challenge missions where everyone flies with the same minimal loadout. For the next 3 days, daily challenges will be Budget Constraints. Afterwards, Budget Constraint appears with a 20% probability each day (another 40% for Daily Mission (renamed to “Today’s Scramble”), 20% Weapons Training, and 20% Pot Luck).

Also, some balancing changes to Positron Stream, Plasma Rifle, and Laser Cannon. And new backgrounds!

Bug/Idea medals will be awarded later in the day. Note that your medal cannot be awarded if your in-game callsign doesn’t match your forum name (put it in your forum profile where it says “name” so I can find it).


You will lose:

  • any mid-mission progress
  • your language selection

  • :gear: Keys can now autorepeat only while in the “held” state.

  • :bulb: Klaus chicken: Reduced health to 2500-5500 (was 3500-6500).

  • :gear: Disallowed “@gmail.co”, “@hotmail.co” (and other popular truncated domains) as an e-mail domain.

  • :gear: Disallowed frequent “@gmail.com” misspellings as an e-mail domain (e.g.: gmial, gamil, etc)

  • :gear: Disallowed all symbols (except period, hyphen, underscore) from e-mail addresses.

  • :gear: All projectiles now ignore already-killed enemies in their collision checks (allows instant-hit weapons like Laser and Riddler, and to a lesser extent fast-moving ones like Boron and Hypergun, to ‘penetrate’ through enemies)

  • :bug: Config Presets screen: Fixed crash when selecting preset that contains “CIU Default Background” (caused by renamed class) (@Supermonkeygamer14 @Lumberjacck :medal_sports: Bug)

Can we ever get to change the default background in the galaxy map?

Probably not. The CIU default background used in the galaxy is specially made, it can’t be replaced easily.

Remove Pecking order from caged animals/the zoo. the first chicken which holds the first pecking order arrangement tries to hide behind it’s allies which is impossible to get him without ruining the streak.

Background and Cuisine are fine but Music it’s kinda weird, is this a bug?


I already reported it, IA denied it.

Although I still don’t get the point of being able to insert the same track in two/three slots.

Could the retro background be placed after CI4 bg? With the additions of 4 new backgrounds it is more jarring to look at.


It’s intended. I need to allow multiple copies for music so that you can mount it both as a “wave” music and a “boss” music.

There isn’t one. It’s an unfortunate technical consequence of how music is implemented. See my preceding reply.

My comment was wrong. Duplicate music just gets ignored.

These are sorted alphabetically, so you’d have to change the translation.

Wow, I just noticed that when pasting in the translation screen, instead of inserting characters one by one, it now just seems to happen instantaneously. Great work!


the droid raid’s blue filter turns the bg #3 green
and bg #4 on droid raid is barely visible


The bug has not been fixed.
