Early Access version 101.2

Tysm it installs, but it says “launching the game” and it just closes, and it says stop button, but i dont see game

Proton 6.3 btw

Ok, seems like it will require troubleshooting, since I see some pattern. Can you make a new topic on this forum and post your PC specs there and once again say what doesn’t work? I don’t want to make unnecessary mess here and it sounds like it’s gonna require few more posts at best and may be useful if we can solve it. I’ll flash my USB with Manjaro to check something myself.

(by specs I mean, processor, graphics card, RAM, maybe you can also post the neofetch screen if you know it)

Yeah, I don’t know if an AFK guy can exploit the system or not so for extra measures, I suggest the system kick all players in Multiplayer if they stand still for 60 seconds and zombies players should not get keys to prevent any kind of exploitation. So the motto for this is “Only by playing legitimately will you have keys to spend, or food to eat/sell”

I think it would be perfectly adequate just to exclude ghosts/zombies/whatever-they-are from participating in the key sharing. I can’t imagine any way of effectively cheating it so that someone stays alive and afk for a significant amount of time.

Should we dimming the notifications (such as Clean Sweep, Pecking Order…) when we moved the spaceship into this area? sometimes I died because this notifications covered me

To be fair, sharing keys alone will make multiplayer much less of a key-dump. I think making food not shared shouldn’t be a huge issue. Unless I’m mistaken, keys themselves are of much greater value anyway.

I wonder however how key sharing should interract with players’ lives. Because it would kind of feel cheap if someone didn’t take any extra lives, died immediately and still got all the keys for the entire weekly mission for example. Maybe on pick-up, keys should apply to every account in session with 1 or more lives? (In that scenario, even if dead player picks up a key, it still applies to all the living players, but not to him).

Idk, it’s just a thought/concern I have, what’s your opinion on that?

Also, if we are speaking of food, what do you think of its role in game right now? It’s peculiar, it kinda is not the same as keys, but also kinda is, so it’s just another currency that you buy keys with… Idk.

What’s your view on food as it is right now?

I think food collection is not a big deal for me, but collecting keys is really a thing that I wanted in multiplayer, and I never got a chance to collect even just one in certaain multiplyer rooms I joined

Yeah, I will only see food as keys because its only purpose is to be sold to get keys

Even if food is less valuable than keys, I still think it needs to be shared among players.
Who knows, food may have other uses in the future.

food is less valuable but you can still sell it afterwards, so im for the shared food thing

It’s not less valuable, I have many missions where I got more keys in food than total actual keys.

@InterAction_studios For laptop touch pad, can you make when

  • Two fingers drag towards you, it moves your view up.
  • Two fingers drag away from you, it moves your view down.
  • Two fingers left, it moves your view to the right.
  • Two fingers right, it moves your view to the left.

Easier than tapping twice and move or click a button and move.

doesn’t arrow keys work? if it doesn’t you can go to settings>Controls>keyboard and find it there

WASD, but yeah, those exist. I’m speaking about touchpad.

It’s exceedingly boring. It’s weird that our only interactions with the Space Burger are to sell them food.

I don’t have any (good) ideas to fix this issue, so I can empathise with why it is the way it is and I won’t be grievously upset if this isn’t improved or expanded before leaving EA. That doesn’t mean I’m happy in any way about the current state of food in the game.

Will there be a CIU System clear theme, like CI3,4 and 5

You can use Wine intead of Proton.

I’ve solved this issue another way: Keys are now individually collectible for each player (when you collect a key, it disappears for you but other players can still see it). Keys do not spawn at all for zombie players.

For a long time it had no clear purpose, since the mechanic “collect food to gain missiles” was removed. I thought about making it a secondary currency, but I decided against it (that’s why it’s directly convertible to keys now).

Having said this, I recently got an idea about food. In v.102, as part of overhauling the Overdrive mechanic, I plan to add a “Booster” slot in each spacecraft. This slot can be customized with which mechanic will be used for short-term boosting of your weapon power (what is currently Overdrive). Potential selections:

I really don’t want to have yet another method of control. The UI code is already complicated enough.

Will these boosters be upgradeable like weapons or have rarity like all the other mountable equipment?

I really like this concept since it opens a lot of new concepts for the game and adds more strategy
