That confirmation string isn’t in v151, if it’s in v152 we’ll have to wait until it’s out of beta.
(French isn’t fully up to date with the last few versions though, I should have time to tackle it soon)
Perhaps the fact that this was supposed to be a remaster, not a remake, though at this point there’s indeed way too many differences.
I get what you’re trying to say, but I just cannot agree with you. I want to make it clear I’m not saying they should do it, it’s just an idea of mine that I think is really cool, and I’m fine if it never goes anywhere. But saying “it’s a remaster, not a remake” doesn’t really make all that much sense to me. Like, I just don’t get why you appear so offended over the idea of adding more content and making the game more fun all around.
I don’t get why someone would say no to that just because “it’s not canon”. It’s just a stronger boss form, the story and everything else is perfectly in tact and you’d only fight it if you’re playing on the hardest difficulty. Games do non-canon things all the time for the sake of being more fun.
Is each issue separate or is it all parts in one part?
I respect you, but what program are the drawings made on?
You mean in beta updates
It’s strange that you mentioned this because I don’t remember expressing that I am offended, in any form, because I am not. “Opposed to” would be a better wording.
A remaster is always a close recreation/upgrade of the game to enhance the experience that degraded due to outdated technologies. A remake is a different approach to the same concept, reworking the game completely. Right now episodes don’t fall for either: not enough for a remake, too different from the original to be a remaster. Cannonade makes no sense for several reasons:
- It’s difficulty is way out of Egg Cannon’s league, and not to the harder side of it, unfortunately. It also has less variety of attacks.
- There’s absolutely no way to link it to the gameplay, even as a secret. How would that work? A small chance of sudden appearance of Cannonade after the death of Egg Cannon?
- How would other mechanics deal with it, especially the leaderboards? If we assume it’s an extra boss after the entire game is done, then the player has no goal of defeating it because it won’t increase the score. If it does increase the score, you are suddenly the one player with 121 waves finished instead of 120 — say hi to bug reports. This would also screw over the speedrunners because the run now somehow has a small chance to be way longer than it’s supposed to be RIGHT at the end.
My idea was that it would be fought on Superstar Hero difficulty exclusively in replacement of the Egg Cannon, which would show up on all other difficulties, because cannonade is supposed to be a more challenging form.
Lots of games have more powerful versions of bosses usually restricted to their hardest difficulty, or after finishing the game for the first time, or even both - restricted to hardest difficulty that isn’t unlocked until you finish the game.
Honestly, if I made these games, I would make all of the bosses more difficult depending on the difficulty. I don’t like the concept of just increasing enemy hp, or decreasing player damage (or worse, both). I have always liked and preferred it when they actually gain new attacks/strategies/abilities.
Small typo in italian, it should be “differenza”, not “diffrenza”.
I’m reporting this here, but I don’t know if it’s the correct way to do it, I know that there is a way to translate CIU but I don’t know about the new episodes, I’m not very active in this forum.
I read something about Madder being the official italian translator and that they translated CI4, should I ping them, leave this screenshot here, or do something else?
Mah bad. I just fixed it.
I think it’s more than fine to report it here. I guess other translations errors or stuff related to that could also be reported on How to translate the game topic too.
The episodes’ transcriptions are all within the CIU files, so translate them in the same way you do with CIU; open the game, log in, press Ctrl + T, select your language, press Ctrl + T again and search the phrases you want to translate/edit.
Since I’m the lead translator my edits get valuated more and faster, so they get integrated into the file within a few minutes. So all you need to do is log out and re-download your language, the edits should be applied.
You can also translate them yourself but Idk how much edits from other people get evaluted, since I’m usually the only the one translating the game in italian. I wouldn’t mind knowing more about this part though.
As a last note, Idk if the transcript files for the episodes are separated from the CIU one. All I know is that you translate them all from CIU (this of course doesn’t count for the original episodes; just the DLCs).
Yeah I translated all episodes at the end of 2023, all while I was working on another project of mine. I had the original transcript files for CI4 and CI5 but my way of using them was not very efficent. Nevertheless, I tried my best to ensure that everything got translated fine, even updated the translation multiple times to fix some typos here and there, but as you can guess, some error can always slide under my nose, and unless I notice it or someone reports it I have no way of knowing it.
Yeah don’t mind pinging me cause I check the forum quite frequently, and I’m pretty fast to fixing translation errors too. Though tbh it was @VerMishelb reporting this to me, so it’s fine either way.
There is actually a dedicated Discord server for translation in the CI series and CIU specifically, which Mish also shared the link for it here some time ago. I could invite you if you want to provide more feedback on translations and keep track on how we work, though I would wait until Mish gives me the approval to share the link, since it’s his server after all.
Also small unrelated note, but I’m really surprised to see another italian playing CIU. I thought me and @Francis were the only ones. So… good to know.
But yeah, hope I was able to answer your questions quite well, and thanks again for reporting the typo.
The link was already shared in the translation topic. Share it again if you want.
If the official translator has translated (or approved) a particular phrase, then other translators are effectively ignored. If the official translator has not yet entered a translation, however, then it falls back to “the most popular translation” out of whoever has contributed.
Episodes are integrated into CIU’s translation.
Thanks for the detailed answer!
Yeah, I don’t know many italians who play this game either haha. Personally I stopped playing a couple of years ago, but I heard about the episodes getting remastered and wanted to try them out.
I’m not very active on this forum, so I don’t think I’ll be able to actively help with translating the game, but thanks for the offer Still, I’ll let you know if I find any other typos
Nice to know. But yeah, feel free to report other errors if you find any. In any case since Mish gave me the approval, I’ll share you an invite for the CIU translation hub, so you can keep up with our translation stuff, share feedback and report typos faster than in the forum (that is if you have or use Discord, at least).
There is even a dedicated section for italian, like for every other language, so it would be easier to work with, so feel free to join if you want.
How can I update to V20 if I got the IA versions?
Again, the problem with the font size
The sections written in English while the Persian language is active have a large font.
If possible, the original font should be used in these cases
Wait until v.21, it’s coming soon
Pfff… ok, it’s time to bite the bullet and add a dedicated font for Arabic script. Does this look ok?
Changed in v.21/v.152.2 Idea
Its look perfect
i’m arab and this looks pretty good, nice job
This is really perfect
