This could work with a ship damage system. When a part of your ship gets damaged, it gets a wear effect. An extra cost of keys to touch up the paint along with other repairs.

Did this mostly to not have only one type of paintjobs in my garage, also it’s a bit more than just purely inverting the colours. Transparent engine, different fuselage texture, and the inclusion of cockpit trim
