It has been added right afterwards as a preset for starfield base.
Yup. Each has its own color and brightness, but instead of going with the traditional bright and dark blending, I moved forward to add a multiple color palette mixing. At first the color is muddy, but it becomes clearer for each palette.
In my opinions the current UI of the game is too simple and static-like. As it is plain white/grayish, and the coloring is handled by the game completely. So even if I had a plan for better UI, the game itself limits me with color option already. So gradient is my only way to go with this mod.
Or I can just bake the color on top, but it will be a double trouble. First, it requires people to set the theme color to plain white in game so the baked color can be shown clearly. Second, if not setting it to white, you’re pretty much seeing cursed colors.
I meant this without the perlin noise background but the nebulas themselves have dark spots:
I also thought about a planet generator which may be a good fit with these backgrounds (if we only cropped from the planet are):
The idea of having an app that generates these planets instantly it isn’t new, I thought about it when I was discovering how these planets were made.
I unfortunately wasn’t able to make a whole app that just does this because I didn’t know how to even start with (e.g making the texture a sphere). However I made a text version that just drops randomly generated info. I still think you can do something like this!
