So a while ago I had an idea for a satellite:

The weapon would fire a red continuous laser. The main idea behind it is that it would deal more damage the longer the beam is in contact with an enemy.
Let’s say that (hypothetically) it would have a base damage of 40 with a rate of fire of 10/s. The first hit would deal 40 damage, the next one would deal 45, the next one 50 etc. If the beam stops touching the enemy, the damage bonus would reset. This would increase the satellite’s potential damage if it’s being used against bosses and other enemies with large amounts of health.
