I think we are WAAAAY too far to ever get this, would be really cool! But still far from being other than just a raw dream…
Because of that, you might have to manage to do it by yourself, like the model you made out of clay (which is great no joke), even though accuracy wouldn’t be as great…Yet who cares about accuracy if you just want to fly around with it or have it as collection?
If by chance you wanted a great and somewhat close accurate model, then you’ll have to recurr to some other methods.
In my case, first I made a Müller Replica in Roblox studio, then I made some small adjustments to make it printable, and then sent it to a 3D printing house instead of sending it to a friend of mine like I said I would do in my Müller replica topic (as my friend’s 3D printer broke and his repair service hasn’t even fixed it for 7 months…). I had to make it smaller otherwise the price would have been… I mean, I didn’t want to spend 25 dollars for the model…
After FINALLY having the model on my hands, I did some other processes such as cleaning, curing, etc (my resin model required a bunch of long processes that I won’t bother to explain now). After all that, it was time to paint! Unfortunately, I had to skip painting some really small details due to the small size of the model, with the addition of the awful tools I had to paint with (I ultimately suck painting with brushes, permanent markers helped a little for a few details though).
I used to own a great tool for painting 3D models (I don’t remember the name right now…) which would have been better to paint really small details such as the ones in the pods , but I was never able to find it. Will repaint it if I ever find that tool.
And this is the result (for now)
Attempted to not make a really long post by skipping a lot of explanations. There was so much to talk about… But I also didn’t want to flood this topic with much annoying wording from me. I’ll do that when I repaint the model and post about it somewhere else. Oh well, at least now I can sell custom CI Müllers of sketchy quality…
There’s also a post in News | InterAction studios, where IA talks about a 3D printed model made by BCMediaPlayer. The post is titled “Oh, it’s real alright!”, made in 2018-07-12 if you want to check it out, It’s cool and It’s also way better painted than my model!
The main problem with this method (and other similar methods) is that it may takes effort, time and experience to make these… And well, we just want to have them for collection, or perhaps even play with them! But also with not much effort behind…
Sooooooo, if you just want to have real fun making it, stick with clay! or some other…I remember trying to replicate the CI2 spaceship a dead while ago, with not so expensive materials such as bottles (to make the fuselage, probably?), some old wood planks I had thrown around my house, etc. Sorry, no pictures (I made it somewhere near 2005-2007) but I suppose you get the idea.
