Is there a way to increse the weapon limit?

I recently bought the most expensive spacecraft in the game and I saw that it only has 8 firepower limit. and I wanted to know if its possible to change it to be more then that.

Buy a Mueller or BX ship, you won’t be limited from the cap of a H&C or VF ship.
