hey wait
has anyone tried translating this game to arabic?
probably
mannerisms aside i personally think this translation system is honestly pretty unique and cool for a somewhat obscure game series
Not for much longer, iA has submitted the game to Steam, and millions are gonna join

That hasnât been applied yet. Itâs in v.73
Right-to-left language support is incomplete. I donât know if/when it will be fully supported.
Yes
Thatâs⊠overly optimistic. ![]()
The important thing is that the order of $ and ^ are from left to right even when translating to language from right to left
Can you elaborate? (other than hogging up the resources of the PC). Arenât separate processes supposed to be independent and isolated from each other?
MMOs that have auto-hunting implemented can have multiple processes launched for the sole purpose of farming (E.G: Metin2). When you have low system resources, it might become slow, but if itâs doing its job, itâs fine. Also, 2 instances are required when you want to trade between 2 account (ones that are owned by one player, of course). Most likely for storage reasons. (E.g: Metin2, Talisman Online, ACE online, Silkroad (reloaded))
Does CIU need this? if you have the time, add it for bling :Đ No, not really. There isnât anything going on in the hub area (the galactic map). I suggested the idea for a possible solution to my problem.
Well, let it become reality then. :Đ
On another note, can you reconsider adding sorting âby groupâ? Sorting by âNearbyâ criteria doesnât really cut it.
The general idea can be this:
- When selected, it doesnât bring up any text. Rather it bring up a selection of groups (i.e. âShopâ, âGalaxy overlay (the game screen you are logged in first)â, âMain Menuâ, âOptionsâ, etc.).
- When you select a group, it brings the text that is present in that part of the screen (what you normally see when you go there)
- No other criteria for text sorting apply there. It just displays the text. period.
Basically, no need for you to go there in the first place and have the sort criteria selected.
Makes texts more related to each other. (I know where I am and what is related. The latter was, like, a big big issue). Also, place the selected groupâs name in a box (read only) when you are in it somewhere on the screen, just so it is present.
It is still a decent amount of work since you have to add some UI and tag the text, then hide the tags. Soooo⊠up to you, big man.
True
. Supporting right-to-left languages properly is not trivial by any means.
What about the data files that these processes write to? Would you like it if your progress was inconsistently overwritten by the âotherâ process? Or just corrupt your save file altogether?
I considered it, but Iâd have to tag each phrase (all 2000+ of them) with its group. But the reason I decided against it was that some phrases are used by a lot of different groups (e.g. the âRankâ column heading appears in several screens). So that would mean support for multiple groups per phrase. Pain.
Nearby is supposed to be related. Itâs the textual order I have them in my file, which is grouped by function and/or screen.
Well, Iâll just get used to it.
Thanks for the clarification.
(this isnât related to anything, just so you know. Sorry to waste your time)
They are separate for each instance? Though that begs the question how does the game handle dynamic files?
Of course no. This can lead to corruptions
Uhm, I was talking about multiplayer games (MMOs). CIU is and MMOs, just not one of those standard ones that are out there. Singleplayer games are a whole other can of worms.
Letâs just forget we talked about this multiple client thing for now. I know this much but not THAT much. :Đ
Updated original post (new in v.73):
DATES
There are translation entries for day-of-week (Monday, âŠ) and months (January, âŠ). Use the âNearbyâ button to locate them all. Additionally, there are four phrases for constructing relative past/future dates. There is a phrase that gets prepended, and a phrase that gets appended to each date. Example: âXXX 3 months YYYâ. In English, past dates will have XXX empty, and YYY is âagoâ, resulting in â3 months agoâ. Similarly, for future dates XXX is âinâ, and YYY is empty, resulting in âin 3 monthsâ. Hopefully some combination of the 4 values will work for your language.
Updated original post (new in v.73):
PLURAL FORMS
First, you must select which rules will be used for creating plurals in your language, by selecting the most appropriate letter from the list below (for more information about this list, check out GNU gettext utilities ). Enter your selected letter in the âBâ field at the very top (use the Nearby and move to the top of the list to find it.)

Then, on each phrase that requires pluralization (e.g. âdayâ), enter a space-separated list of the singular/plural forms of this word (in English, youâd enter âday daysâ). The number of plurals depends on your language â check list above for the correct amount.
If you donât specify enough plural forms, the missing form will be replaced with an
icon whenever itâs needed.
Functionality to address these cases has been added. Check the preceding post (đ How to translate the game - #304 by InterAction_studios), and let me know if it still doesnât solve the issue.
@InterAction_studios when I was translating, I came across the names for the keys, that display when you set your keyboard controls, but there are many, that I canât recognize. (if you hover over the tag and click it it displays DIK_ [something]).
Do you have a reference on hand which I can view as to what these correspond to (the ones not found on a standard 100% keyboard)?
(Iâd like to state the translation explicitly and not leave it)

or maybe itâs that clark guy
Thanks a bunch, Franci.
Do you have anything related to joystick controllers? Like a layout.
