The game can’t know what the hud is supposed to look like until you log in, which only happens after you click “save the world”.

Sorry, but i don’t think that is possible, also, it was discussed before:
Why did the HUD color reset after the update? I remember last time i painted it to brown and it resetted to blue!
It might be intended, since bringing everyone’s custom theme might take a longer time to update the server
Well IA said that the color themes will be reset.

Can we make CI1 background the default background for anniversary mission?
and make it change when you select anoter background?

unfortunately, that effect make the plasma rifle totally unusable - i died trice because i didn’t see projectiles in the white glowing.

I know it’s sad to hear, and it slightly blocks my vision a little because of its very high brightness.
