A Different Path for Quest (The Enlisted Branch)

Are you sick of grinding for medals and whatnot?
Are you wondering where the heck are the Enlisted Ranks?
Well, this suggestion tries to solve that by making a different path more suited for combat, with hopefully less of a medal grind fest, and more of actually playing the game.
You’ll still be wasting cash on equipment though.

Well, here’s the suggestion already.

These tasks WILL NOT be a part of the “Enlisted” Branch.
Accumulate the specified amount of flight time (in minutes).
Collect the specified number of gifts.
Collect the specified number of atom power-ups (excluding charity atoms).
Collect the specified number of food units.
Collect the specified number of golden coins that drop from enemies.
Enter orbit on the specified number of galactic landmarks. Each landmark should be of the specified type.
Enter orbit on the specified number of planets. Each planet must be of the specified type.
Visit the specified number of star systems.
Visit the specified number of constellations.
Complete a specified number of Competitive missions.

These Tasks will carry over from the “Officer” Branch, but with changed requirements.
Fly the specified amount of waves. (25% more)

Fire the specified number of satellite shots. (50% more. up to 100% more)
Kill the specified number of enemies. (50% more.)
Earn the specified number of medals. (reduced by 66%. No one wants to replay the same mission so many times to grind these darn pieces of scrap metal.)
Earn the specified number of bonuses. (reduced by 50%. Same reason as above, but instead of scrap metal, it’s points.)
Complete a specified number of unique missions, of a specific type. (33% more.)
Complete a specified number of unique missions, at least of the specified difficulty. (Will have higher difficulty requirements. 33% more.)
Complete a specified number of unique missions, of the specified environment. (33% more.)
Complete a specified number of missions, exclusively using a specific weapon. (20% more.)
Use the specified equipment during missions. Only victorious missions count. (20% more.)

Complete a specified number of unique missions, without missing powerups. (gifts, atoms)
Complete a specified number of unique missions, without collecting powerups. (Charity is allowed)
Complete missions of a specified difficulty, under a certain time limit.
Complete a specified number of unique missions, at least of the specified length.
Complete a specified number of unique missions, using the specified skill level.
Complete a specified number of unique missions, using the specified skill level, and at least of the specified difficulty and/or length.
Complete a specified number of unique missions, without bringing any items. (Satellites are fine.)
Complete a specified number of unique missions, using the specified Heatsink. Any rarity is fine.
Complete a specified number of unique missions, using the specified Thruster. Any rarity is fine.

Alright, that’s the quests out of the way. So, what are the ranks you’ll get?
You still start as a Janitor, though.

The list:
Janitor
After that, you choose to go either the “Enlisted” Branch, or the “Officer” Branch (Ensign, etc). The following are the “Enlisted” Ranks.
Cadet
Petty Officer Third Class
Petty Officer Second Class
Petty Officer First Class
Chief Petty Officer
Senior Chief Petty Officer
Master Chief Petty Officer
Fleet Command Master Chief (Petty Officer)
Master Chief (Petty Officer) of the UHF Fleet

Yes, they’ll have their own designs. The epaulettes will also be blue instead of red. Sorry iA.
Feel free to suggestion designs though, peeps.

The key rewards are the exact same as the “Officer” Branch.

You’re already highly ranked in the “Officer” Branch? Well, tough luck.
But don’t worry, there will be a button that allows you to “Retire”.
Upon retiring, you get a “pension”, equivalent to your current rank (Pips don’t count). You will then be knocked down back to a Janitor. Sorry, Roger Wilco. You killed an official.

Okay, perhaps you should worry, then. But hey, it’s how real life is.

That’s all for the suggestion. What do you think?

Should there be an “Enlisted” Branch for the Quest?
  • Heck yes
  • Heck no (Please explain why)
  • Heck yes, but… (Suggest your changes)
