There should be an option to use thumb mouse buttons

I just don’t like using middle mouse button to fire my missles since it’s hard to press.

Uh,you can change this in controls.

last time I checked, there wasn’t option to choose for buttons outside the main three.

Yeah, you can only change the left mouse button, right mouse button and middle mouse button. In the case of keyboard and joypad( Weirdly enough you can use scroll up and scroll down as buttons in that section, but not left,right, button 4, button 5 of the mouse etc ) you can change what keys you use.
