Ye man, i can just imagine an animation of how the theory goes like. The spaceship gets destroyed in parts and then some kind of magnet that is probably the shield you have in-game, puts them back together and then you go back to fight.

I think the Hero inside the spaceship collects them, and after he finishes the mission, he eats it, and sells the remaining food in the nearest Space Burger.
