Whai is “Total Time” of “Most active recruit” meaning?

It determines How long do you play the game for the whole day. Even though you’ve logged in many times, as long as you keep on flying missions, your time will be counted

If I isn’t flying any missions but keep it on-line, will your time be counted?

I think this only counts the time, when you’re in a mission. You can stay in a wave for several minutes, but as you see in the leaderboard, you must fly more waves to get the medal.
