Other mmos and mobas have them and they let the playerbase know the changes to the game (like buffs and nerfs, new enemies, etc.)

Yeah, it would be nice to have more detailed patch notes. They used to do that before around 2011 in the manuals, but they stopped for some reason, with the only exception being patchnotes sent to beta testers.
