(sry for my bad English), hi, this is my second topic about wave suggestion. Hope you guys enjoy it.
#2 - General Grievous
star wars reference again:
This wave is a harder variant of “Inquisitorius” wave, with the chicken having 4 spinning swords instead of 2, and those 4 swords will spin independently (clockwise and counter-clockwise alternately) while moving along a circular path with the chicken at the center (they will move in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions alternately). (like in the video, but with destructible barriers).
This wave layout will be the same as “Inquisitorius”, including:
- starting to appear at 70% difficulty.
- 125% zoom out.
- 4 danger zones at the edges of the screen.
- 3/4/5 enemies on the screen at the same time, with a range of 13-20 enemies in total, depending on the difficulty.
- enemy bounces when touching the edge of the screen.
- destructible barriers (sry fot my laziness in editing the destructible barriers for the video).
- max is 7 minibosses in total.
- pecking order bonus: 4,000 per group.
- variants: spacecraft can face 1 in 4 orientations (up/down/left/right) like in “Inquisitorius” wave.
#3 - The Wrecking Ball
“i came in like a wrecking ball” (stop)
reference:
For its movement, i resembled the idea from an old game called ‘Heavy Weapon Deluxe’, in a boss fight named ‘War Wrecker’.
(Credit to Beat That Boss for the video)
Here’s the wave’s layout:
(a pretty big danger zone heh~)
The big wrecking ball will be made from indestructible barriers, with the portal at the center. It will appear at one side of the screen. I use PowerPoint to animate the movement and the swing (actually, it spins) of the ball.
more details:
-
1st row (the row with number 0): how it spins when entering the screen:
- spin: 90 degrees counterclockwise.
- duration: 2 seconds.
-
2nd row: how it loops the spin after entering the screen:
- spin: 180 degrees clockwise, then 180 degrees counter-clockwise (it’s the “auto-reverse” option in ppt), and repeat until the end of the wave.
- duration: 2 seconds for each 180-degree spin (it means the ball takes 4 seconds to complete a full spin cycle, including 180 degrees clockwise and 180 degrees counter-clockwise).
-
3rd row: how it enters the screen:
- duration: 3 seconds to the end of the path.
- the path: is the dashed line in this image (the faded ball describes where it will move to).
-
4th row: how it loops the movement after entering the screen:
- duration: 2 seconds for each straight-line movement (it means the ball takes 4 seconds to complete a full straight cycle, including forward and backward straight-line movement; repeat until the end of this wave).
- the path: is the dashed line in this image (look at 2 faded balls to understand how its straight movement loops).
and this is how the wrecking ball moves after applying all of the details above:
( if you can, let the speed of the movement depend on difficulty, the speed in the video is at 100% difficulty ).
The portal at the center of the ball will spawn enemies sequentially to enable the ‘Pecking Order’ bonus. After spawning, each enemy will move freely (to random places) on the screen. In case the enemy appears off-screen, let it enter the screen first. Enemies’ speed will depend on difficulty.
Also, at >=100% difficulty, there will be 32 enemies inside the ball (these enemies will all be the same, like this image). After the enemies spawned by the portal are all killed, those indestructible barriers and the portal will disappear, letting the player kill the remaining 32 enemies.
The number of chickens that the portal can spawn in this wave will also depend on difficulty:
- (50% to <75%): 8 enemies on the screen at the same time, 24 enemies in total.
- (75% to <100%): 12 enemies on the screen at the same time, 36 enemies in total.
- (100% to <125%): 16 enemies on the screen at the same time, 48 enemies in total to be spawned by the portal, plus 32 enemies inside the ball.
- (>=125%): 20 chickens on the screen at the same time, 60 chickens in total to be spawned by the portal, plus 32 enemies inside the ball.
Summary:
– Enemy: all types except Heavy Guns.
– Score: Pecking Order (12,000/18,000/24,000/30,000).
– Difficulty: begins to appear at 50%.
– Zoom: default zoom.
– Variants: have a mirrored variant (the ball can either appear on the left or right side of the screen).
That’s all. Thanks for reading my long post. Hope you enjoy it and have a nice day.
