New Daily Mission Type – Fleet Rotation

New Daily Mission Type – Fleet Rotation

Hi everyone! I’m posting this here because my account is still too new to create separate threads, but I feel this idea needs to be discussed as soon as possible. I’ve come up with a concept for a 5th type of Daily Mission, which could be called Fleet Rotation (or any similar name).

Current missions have become quite predictable because everyone flies their favorite or a pre-assigned loadout. We lack a mode that tests not just accuracy, but above all, the ability to rapidly adapt to a constantly changing ship. Imagine flying a nimble M408 in one wave, and in the next, the game throws you into a massive BX-9 – and this happens every single wave! This completely shatters muscle memory because you have to realize in a split second that your hitbox has suddenly doubled in size. Where you could fly through gaps easily a moment ago, you now simply won’t fit.

Mission Mechanics:
Before the mission starts, we see exactly what the system has assigned to us: the ship model, hardpoints, and equipment. However, keep in mind that this setup only applies to the first wave (unlike Budget Constraint or Pot Luck, where the loadout lasts for the entire mission). From the second wave onwards, the lottery begins – every wave, the game rolls a new ship model, hardpoints (engines, heatsinks, reactors), satellites (or a lack thereof), and mountable equipment. The only exception is the Extra Lives – their amount is fixed from the start of the mission and only decreases if you crash.

Billions of Combinations:
The game rolls the rarity of each part individually (from Common to Legendary). Because of this, the same ship model can be excellent one time and hopeless the next. For example, you might get a BX-8 with a Legendary engine and maneuver it perfectly, but a few waves later (or even the very next one), you might roll the same model but with such “junk” equipment that the ship handles like a total snail – barely turning and overheating instantly. You might get a full set of satellites in one wave, and fly with none at all in the next.

Equipment and Lives:
The aforementioned randomness also applies to all mountable slots. The only exception, as mentioned, is Lives. The pool of lives determined at the start (in Wave 1) stays with us until the very end of the mission. This ensures that a unlucky roll with a low number of lives in a harder wave won’t cause you to lose the mission immediately upon crashing.

Summary:
This has to be a Daily Mission because there’s only one chance, and you can’t memorize the loadouts. This would be a mode for people who can master any machine in a fraction of a second. I can already see the comments when someone gets a fatal combination of ship and equipment in the hardest wave!

What do you guys think?

I don’t know how can you create a whole new idea in even first post despite you have just starting to use Forum. But well anyways, i could say that’s a great idea since this is a chance for players to practise their skill about all type of spacecraft we had in-game.

I can now create separate posts. Should I move this entry to a separate post or leave it here?

You can do this on seperate and combine choice is yours @Szymix1500

welcome to the forum :D‎

I personally think this is a great idea for daily missions. It makes the game more exciting than the usual “fixed” missions and because every wave will be played differently, it makes it different from pot luck.

by making players change ships after every wave, the game turns into a puzzle which is very exciting and awesome. Players have to adapt to ships size and properties which is a very cool challenge. randomizing the parts inside the ship is also very smart.

As you didn’t specify, im sure you also meant the weapon and weapon firepower would also change. And another thing, (you didn’t suggested though) every wave having different environment would look woerd so only the environment is the thing that will already be set.

I found it impressive that this is your first idea and already so good. The balance youve set is great. Given this debut, im excited to look forward for the ideas you are gonna make.

Best of luck ;)‎
