I hope the video will also showing the medals that taking from each waves, or each stage, or even the mission. While waiting for that, i’ll post here my outcome, just in case someone asked me for which medals did i take after watching the video.
Oh yes. And the “Weapon Virtuosity” too.
what
is that the correct translation
at least you tried.
Hey, there I am!
Didn’t expect to see Races being recorded by the GEN system. All the more to experiment by comparing a Race between two players.
It’s funny how I said this when the GEN system was starting up and now look what happened. @MaxMinoCube pinged me and I confirmed it.
Now this is the day i want to be on TV, since my favorite boss was appeared on this Today’s Scramble mission (though i died one time at there)
I noticed in some of the videos where the screen shakes, it looks like pro gamer mode is not active (evident from the “stronger” screen shake). Is that set by the GEN system or is it due to the player not having it on? I don’t think I’ve seen a video where pro gamer mode is on.
Well, that thing depend on UHF player have enable game mode , so GEN will apply it too
It’s most likely the former.
this wall of text is not directed at the GEN system itself but rather the output video.
just arrived here from the apr 23 “highlights 5” short video. as a person whose generation is brainrotten by shortform content ive got to say the video is very confusing and is a mess to watch.
while amazing for the game, the orchestral nature of CIU soundtrack make it unfit for any form of highlights video to be honest. there’s no hype or coolness factor to it. i am not even kidding when i say even the original ci2 theme suited more, but there are better options.
the flashing text cards obstruct the view all the time, and should be made to be less distracting and feature less heroic messages but rather be changed to be more like the kind of commentary you get on sports highlights (spoken commentary will help, but since CIU is not an esport yet, i do not think this is feasible)
there should be more editing to make the viewer focus better on whatever was happening (some kinds of arrows pointing at stuff, slow motion stuff, words on screen or something).
the top and bottom paddings of the video can be expanded a little bit to give more room for the actual video because i kid you not some videos feature much more massive paddings to accomodate for the original landscape video footage.
since this is footage taken from a system that records the gameplay itself, taking out the HUD could help in visibility. also put player names somewhere.
the text at the bottom could be taken out because anyone can google “chicken invaders universe” and without the url at the bottom the video will not seem like an obvious ad obstructed by 3 hashtags

the transitions between footages should be faster. this is a short video you know. and the footages can be longer. hell, even one epic moment can become an entire video.
P/S: it would be funny if you adjusted the screen shaking to be extra intense in the videos =)
As a means of getting more viewer attention?
probably? this is not what i meant but it could
Anything that’s not eligible for competitive recording is eligible for highlights.
I’ll add that over the next few days.
As far as I can tell, the “Pro-gamer” setting of each recording is remembered for each player individually. Exception: the millisecond-accurate timer. I think the “less shaking” is a visual illusion because the window size is much smaller than the full screen. But I’ll look into it again.
That’s some very insightful feedback, thanks. I’ll look into addressing at least some of your suggestions over the coming days. Sadly, given that these videos are automatically selected and edited, they will never reach the quality of a hand-picked video, but I’ll do my best.
