the new one is the dlc for your ciu account, required to access ci1 content of the game

This game is completely Remake and is related to CIU. And it is also known as DLC, so it’s not free. But its price is cheaper than the others.
it’s also recommended to get on steam which is you will receive the original (the remaster, too) and it’s episode without necessary getting on developer’s site separately.
Instead of thinking that the old page downloads the old version and the current page downloads the current version, when you download from the old page, you actually get both the old version and the remastered version at the same time. At first glance, it’s clear that it is the old version.

Chicken Invaders Episode 1: The Saga Begins is a complete recreation of the CI1 in a modern environment, so they’re two different games.
The page you are looking at is the original CI1, which is completely free while CIep1 is on an entirely different page (you can see it listed in the Buy page), costing around the same price.
I think the dev should make some changes to the original CI1 page.

Steam has regional pricing, Standalone doesn’t.

What’s the difference? Did iA create a new story for it? Or is it just a 4th variant of CI1 that all you can do is kill chickens, astroids, chickens revolving around a planet, kill a big chicken then repeat?
I mean, I kind of wondered what’s the difference in the DLC if we already have a remastered version in modern UVE and the anniversary mission.

yeah. it’s a glorified & paid 120th anniversary but since the anniversary is over YEARS ago, making it paid with more more authentic textures is fair.
