Collecting keys should have an advantage in gameplay.
It depends on the difficulty,
1 - 10 = Decrease the temperature by 35%
10 - 25 = - 30%
25 - 50 = -25%
50 - 70 = -20%
70 - 100 = -12%
Above hundred = 0%

Skill issue. Just use the Corn Shotgun until you get a better heatsink, or get some Coolant Canisters if you don’t like overheating in general.

Keys are a currency, Not for saving heat or whatever, They are used to buy ships, heat sinks etc.

No. That is absolutely not the case for me.
It could be somehow helpful for newer players. As it wouldn’t work on higher difficulties.

I…Don’t know how you make a currency item take effects to an in-mission game feature. This idea looks like just slapping game mechanics and balance.
