A lot of wave tweaks (again).


Bug/Idea medals will be awarded later in the day. Note that your medal cannot be awarded if your in-game callsign doesn’t match your forum name (put it in your forum profile where it says “name” so I can find it).

COMPATIBILITY

You will lose:

  • any mid-mission progress
  • anything you’ve set in the Options menu

The animation has almost zero impact. The slowdown is more likely caused by the large amount of spacecraft in view (although they’re really not that many)

  • I remember that Galactic Party in version 141 was a Wormhole. It could change tint colors randomly, but it didn’t include fireworks effects. The Sun in the current version, however, does include fireworks effects.
  • “Mysterious Ship” boss in Christmas Edition needs the damage/impact sound effects of snowballs or snow clay, similar to those of the “Special Forces” and “It’s Party Time” in the Christmas edition.

small idea for ‘spawner spinner’ wave: spinning speed will depend on difficulty. (it will be slower when the difficulty < 100% and faster when the diff > 100%)

Anyone having their CIU frozen on the start up screen on version 158?
Launched with Windows 10 22H2 version 10.0.19045

Try restarting the PC
(i dont have windows 10 sorry)

I just did a Windows 10 update so not sure what’s the problem

Some things you could try:

  • Restart the PC again (just in case the update needs a full restart).
  • Run CIU as Administrator.
  • Update or reinstall graphics drivers (Windows updates sometimes reset them).
  • Try launching CIU in windowed mode.
  • Check if any antivirus or Windows Defender is blocking CIU.
  • If possible, redownload CIU.
  • Try compatibility mode.
  • Check if other games start normally after the update.


It is using CPU but not sure what’s it’s doing

Hey, from what you’ve shared, it looks like CIU is stuck during startup — it’s using CPU but isn’t responding, which usually means it’s stuck in a loading or graphics initialization step.

This can happen after a Windows 10 update. You could try:

  • Running CIU as Administrator
  • Updating or reinstalling your graphics drivers
  • Verifying or reinstalling CIU

Hopefully one of these helps get it running again

Update: I had figured out the actual problem
CIU fullscreen crash for some reason
I had to change this from 2 to 1 (2 is fullscreen and 1 is borderless)

Windows 10 isn’t the problem

Not sure what’s the cause but when you exit the game while it’s graphics is in full screen you won’t be able to open the game again as it will do a fullscreen crash (black screen freeze) unless you edit your CIU.cfg file

In wave “Special Forces” can it be that in seasonal contents [ Depends ] the idk the name but you’ll see a green light at the centre of the enemy, can it be that the green light can be for example Christmas red or white or green, summer yellow, blue etc things like that

And there is supposed to be fireworks in the sun, and there isn’t.

There is fireworks but you can’t see it
