Another post with a lot of notes, omitting things already mentioned by other people
Gameplay inconsistencies:
- The satellite progression from CI4U is also applied to CI5U (such as Microgun being the only available satellite on chapter 1)
- Some enemies and bosses have CIU health ramps instead of CI4, for example the first Super-Chick has 50000 health instead of 60000
- The Chicken Wobble (wave 11) and The Bubble Wobble (wave 101) have 4 rows of enemies instead of 3 (though it used to be 4 before the HD update), similarly Bubble Rings (wave 114) has an extra row
- Square Dancing (wave 17) has 10 columns of enemies instead of 8 columns
- Alien Mothership does not drop a satellite under any circumstances
- Rolling Ball o’ Chicks (wave 87) doesn’t use the right enemy sets (inner chickenaut ring respawns, the chicken and chick rings don’t)
- Enemy Hurricane (wave 104) was mirrored in the original, but here it isn’t
- Chickens ‘n’ Chicks (wave 106) has two sets of Chicks instead of three
Visual inconsistencies:
- Missing quips for The Next Generation (wave 1), ending quip for the first boss, ending quip for Supply Droids (wave 91), quip after the first security droid appears (wave 93)
- Screen shakes from cutscenes (Egg Cannon in the intro, supernova explosion) don’t carry over to the game
- With pro gamer mode, there’s a faint second of CI4’s chapter complete theme playing right after a cutscene ends
- Chicken Aerial Show (wave 2) has chickens with red shirts instead of orange
- Wave 10’s Chickenaut’s movement feels rigid, it’s not able to rotate as far enough as it used to
- The shirt gradient in Caught by Surprise (wave 15), Sweeping Swoop (wave 53) and Caught Unawares! (wave 85) is applied per column, not per row
- UFO Chickens and the ones in cutscenes use the CI4 design with red wattles and combs, but other instances of them look like the yellow CIU design
- Floating Feathers (wave 32) still has the “Taking evasive action!” subtitle in the original
- Invader Crossing waves don’t include the “Look both ways!” warning or “Caution:”
- Attack Formations (wave 81) doesn’t include the “Warning:”
Editions:
- CI4 Xmas has CI5’s graphics for alien containers and CIU’s graphics for eggs (also default egg break sprites)
- CI4 Xmas is missing the shirt sprites for regular chickens
- Thanksgiving is missing the galaxy cutscene image, the starfield, the egg white for the Mother-Hen Ship and modified food
- The boss turkey head has some weird off color pixels on its eyes
Other notes:
- The Mother-Hen Ship fires 3 bullets even in SSH, so I’m wondering what’s the requirement for 5 bullets?
- It’s kind of weird that “Chicken Ambush” waves are still called “Henpire Ambush”
- Is it possible to have background coloring for special chapters like Retro, Nova, Droid?

Also, the egg cannon explosion in cutscene is bad, you can see the egg cannon after the explosion ends for few milliseconds before it pops out of thin air

should this enemies taking down in 2 times instead of 3 times in wave “The Replacements”.
Not related to CI4U in particular, but when these features will be ufficial (CI 3, 4, 5) there should be a medal for completing them (like the medals for arriving first in competitive events).
It’d be nice if the time it takes to warp after finishing a stage is lower.
It takes a really long time.
