Boss Idea #15: ☀️ Hadron Crabsher / Crabron Collider

“V2.2’s gonna accomplish what its ‘older brothers’ couldn’t do before…”


○ Note: This post has 2 parts. The first one’s focusing on the main topic, the second is just some of my expressions. If you come here just for the boss, you don’t need to read the final section marked [Self-expression] at its beginning (since the first part will end here).


So today i’ll bring to you a new mechanical boss concept. Hope you enjoy reading!^^

Here’s how the boss may look like:

The boss inherits several unique properties from both “King of Crabs” and “Space Crab V2.0”.

The image below includes the boss’s hidden weapon inside its body, a laser cannon which will periodically appear in an attack.

Boss’s details with short explanations:

In the battle, the screen will be zoomed out with the same proportion as that of “King of Crabs” battle (or maybe a bit higher). So here’s the attacks list of this boss, at 100% difficulty.


1) Molten Solar Balls Throwing

A casual technique learned from its older brother (Space Crab V2.0), but instead of 12 times, this boss will only throw 9 times.

2) Unstable Solar Balls

Four destabilized solar balls will be thrown at random places. Instead of going out of the screen, these balls will travel for a while, then decelerate and completely stay still at any places for a couple of seconds.

After 2 seconds, these balls will explode, releasing 11 molten projectiles travelling at different constant speeds (Some travel fast and moderately fast, other go slowly or very slowly).

3) Molten Rain

Two upper cannons will fire a spreading group of molten projectiles travelling at different speed each time. At 100% difficulty, a group include 6 projectiles, and the boss will fire 8 times, with delay interval of 0.6 second.

The attack may cover nearly the whole screen, since those 2 upper cannons will change angle gradually and alternatively from left → right, so there might be no totally safe spot in this attack.

4) Fusion Laser

The boss will move to the center of the screen’s upper half, then the laser cannon will come out of its body.

Right after that, the boss will start charging for its destructive laser shot. The charging may last ~1.3 second.

Fired out instantly from the cannon is a huge diverging laser with great expansion rate. Its “bottom” (on the screen scale) will cover the whole bottom edge of the screen (it’s actually the body since the laser length is nearly infinite).

At 100% difficulty, there will be some extra hazards in this attack. After more than 1 seconds, there’ll be some floating superheated gases emerging from the laser. They’ll travel with different directions (no downward, downward left, downward right).

Touching these gases will overheat your weapon instantly, and staying more than couple of seconds will result to losing a life. The denser and less transparent the gas is, the faster your death will be. That’s why these gases are more hazardous than those of Dr.Beaker’s orange flask.

"It’s nice to say hi again to y’all, Meowinus here :>… and, I’m truly sorry for suddenly leaving |<. So… a little thought sharing. Quite much academic and mental pressure pushed me away from having fun with the things I usually did as a hobby in the past, and in that period of time,… I feel moderately terrible and unmotivated. It’s something that a little bit looked like an existential crisis, and I got drowned into various self-expectations for the future, illusions and even regrets about my life choices (“Coding is painful ;_;”, I once said to myself that). Kinda a hard time, isn’t it.

Then one day I found the old proto-designs of my old ideas for the game, I went back to CIU forum for a moment of feeling nostalgic (I guess, since it’s the best to describe what I felt at that moment). Various topic of my old ideas and suggestions got into my sight, and it gave me back the feeling I may not feel for a quite long time: The ‘fun’. Yeah.. I did make those ideas, although some themselves were challenging made me a little bit tired sometimes, I made them just for fun (and a few expectations, may be). I realized that If I can do the things at present just for fun, like how I created ideas, they may get a lot less toilsome. So, I may have to learn how to find fun and happiness at every works I’m doing right now, and possibly in the future…

Alright, let’s switch topic. Will I get back to the game? Hmm… sadly may be not, the same for the Discord Server. But I still visit the forum, despite how seldom the frequency is (yet I might dive again after this re-emergence).

About the idea, It’s agreeable that iA might accept a completely new and original idea than some enhanced version of current bosses, but that does not necessary mean iA will totally reject suggestions with the latter. This idea is the result of my ‘changing the mood’, as I wanna try creating something different from current boss ideas i’m making, and there’s also the motivation from my ‘very-very-little-bit’ displeased about Space Crab V2.0 (Sorry since I can’t find another word having a milder meaning). The design it’s phenomenal, actually, I have to admit that the appearance looked so menacing and.. uhm… blazingly cool; however, some other aspects are a bit off (Ugh, here are the complains: “Ehh… 4 arms instead of 6?”, “Just 2 attacks, 2 weapons? Could’ve been much better…”). Therefore, the boss in this suggestion (quite arrogant to say) could somehow be the successor of V2.0, as I could only ‘hope’ for. Some properties of V2.0 can be reused and upgrade in this version, some might get modified and even eliminated, yet along with even some features you might never see before. I hope that the ‘thing with spiky arm’ in this suggestion, like many other ones, can be an inspiration for another brand new boss, or can even be a true boss in the game with the partly uniqueness of this idea (It’s not a problem to be a dreamer sometimes, isn’t it? :>).

Well. I guess i might just end the yappin’ here. If you’ve managed to read this far, you’re truly a passionate and awesome reader : P. If i can be freed again from current pile of works and some “petty” mental problems I’m still facing, we shall meet again in the future.

love to see another crab boss

I know, a time always comes where you have no choice but to leave the things you love. the boss is good, its more of a simple yet challenging. We all love your ideas and im sure we will meet again soon :D‎
