Staff's Appilcations

For the relief of iA, and protecting forum from people like these

sorry for bringing those up

I want iA to hire some people, ofc, staff
In the topic I will be suggesting 3 types of staffs, what will they do, how to be one of them, and how iA is going to hire them
The whole system is kind of complex so make sure you read with full brain mode on

NOTE: No official note from iA about staffs (afaik) and terms used like ‘google form’ and ‘contact admins’ don’t actually exist. This is only a framework of how will iA implement staff-ing in the forum.

Lets see how to apply
Make sure you meet the minimum requirements. If you can, have references from other Moderators and Admins. This would make the process a lot easier during the interview.

:clipboard: Requirements

  • Have stayed on the forum for 3 months
  • Have at least 2 days of read time
  • Trust level must be 2 (Member)
  • You must not have any flags under 2 months old
  • Have been playing the game for 6 months
  • Rank in-game should be more than 50
  • If your application is denied, you must wait 2 weeks before re-applying
  • If you have been a Trainee but were denied after Phase 2, you must wait 2 weeks before re-applying.
  • Unauthorized assistance (ChatGPT) is strictly prohibited and will be instantly denied.
  • References from Moderators and Admins are optional (a Mod or Admin that guarantees that you won’t cause trouble)

If you have any questions or concerns about the requirements, contact the Administrators before applying.

After fulfilling requirements and references (optional), you have to fill the Google Form provided. Wait untill an admin check it, he will invite you in a DM and then take an interview of you. If he sees potential in you, you will be promoted to a temporary rank, Trainee.

After a month, you will have to give another interview and the Admins would check if you can be a Moderator or not.

:gear: The Process

:one: Phase 1

  • Application processed (by an admin)
  • Invited for an interview if you meet the requirements (DMs by Admins)
  • Will become a trainee or denial

:two: Phase 2

  • After a month of being a trial, You take the Moderator Exam (DMs by Admins)
  • Moderator or denial

Here is what the application template would look like. All these questions will be in the Google Form that you have to fill. (Im still not sure the application would be taken on either forum (DMs) or Google Form)

:scroll: Application Template

  1. What is your In-game username?
  2. What is your Forum username?
  3. What is your E-mail?
  4. Why do you feel you would make a good staff member?
  5. Do you have any previous experience in moderation?
  6. Who are your staff references (optional)?
  7. Additional?

‘How to become a staff’ done
Lets talk about the ranks

:seedling: Rank 3 - Trainees

These are the people who applied for Moderator. Trainee is a temporary rank to learn how to be a good staff before you become a Moderator. If you pass Phase 1, you’ll become a Trainee. And after Phase 2, you will become a moderator.

:lock: Permissions

  • Observation: Access to view certain staff channels for learning purposes.
  • Guided Moderation: Assist in monitoring chats under Moderator supervision.
  • Report Handling: Identify and flag rule-breaking content for staff review.
  • Support: Answer basic community questions and assist new players.

:shield: Rank 2 - Moderators

Moderators are official staff members who have successfully passed both phases of training. They are responsible for maintaining order and enforcing guidelines daily.

:lock: Permissions

  • Enforce Rules: Actively ensure all community guidelines are being followed.
  • Chat Monitoring: Remove spam and stop player abuse in real-time.
  • Action Tools: Ability to warn, mute, kick, or ban (24-hour limit) offenders.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle arguments and solve user problems effectively.
  • Reporting: Document and report major issues or complex cases to Admins.
  • Community Safety: Keep the environment welcoming and safe for all users.
  • Watching Trainees: Observe the actions of trainees.

:crown: Rank 1 - Admins

Admins are the highest level of authority. They oversee all community operations, manage the staff team, and make final decisions regarding server policy and high-level appeals.

:lock: Permissions

  • Promote / Demote: Manage the rank and status of all staff members.
  • Full Moderation: Access to warn, mute, kick, and permanent ban tools.
  • Rules & Policy: Create, update, and finalize all community rules.
  • Staff Management: Hire or remove Moderators based on performance.
  • Ban Appeals: Manage and make final decisions on ban appeal requests.
  • Announcements: Handle server-wide announcements and official events.

Still haven’t talked how to become an admin. After a full year of being a Moderator, you will have to give another interview, that will directly be taken by iA. He would be the one deciding that will you become and admin or not
Now its not a simple rank any person can get and it does require a lot of time so it also has some requirements

:clipboard: Requirements

  • Have stayed on the forum for 1 year
  • Have at least 10 days of read time
  • Trust level must be 3 (Regular)
  • Have been a Moderator for 1 year
  • You must not have any flags under 6 months old
  • Have been playing the game for 1 year and 6 months
  • Rank in-game should be atleast 99 with atleast 100 hours of playtime
  • If your application is denied, you must wait 4 weeks before re-applying
  • If you have been denied by iA, you must wait 4 weeks before re-applying.
  • Unauthorized assistance (ChatGPT) is strictly prohibited and will be instantly denied.
  • References from Admins are optional (an Admin that guarantees that you won’t cause trouble)

If you have any questions or concerns about the requirements, contact the Administrators before applying.

If normal users have a problem, contact Moderators and Admins.
If trainees have a problem, contact Moderators and Admins.
If moderators have a problem, contact other Moderators and Admins.
If Admins have a problem, contact other Admins and iA.
If iA have a problem, im sorry.

NOTE: The amount of maximum staffs in a category
5 Admins
10 Moderators
3 Trainees (at a time)
There shouldn’t be a lot of people in the staff team. If a staff gets unregular on the forum, does a crime, or smth like that, he will be demoted / removed from staff team.

Now, I want to suggest some people who are perfect for being staffs. These people are only suggestions and if iA thinks of making them staff note they will directly be a staff and normal processes (application-interview-1 year wait) wont apply to them. (can have an interview tho)

First, for the admin rank. I have a person who is literally perfect for being an admin. I have never seen him in a fight, he always help people in need, knows most of the things about the game, is an official translator of a language, is an OG, and he is Pinanas. Some other people than im not too sure about but im this sure that they are great for being one of the first admins are JustDoIt, Neonova_Solara, and MafiaPlay2.

Now for the Moderators. Darth_Skembesion, iifireii, OneWingLunarian, PlasmaX (can also be an admin i think) and me

The topic has ended, this is what staff should be according to me. Let’s see if iA implement this idea. Just after I created this topic, a new tag named ‘staff’ has appeared. If you think that any permission is unfair, or any change should be done in some section, let me know.

simplified:
admin = handles the server
mod = handles the players
trainee = trial for becoming a mod

Instead of ranked level to be above 50 let it be that you should be at tier 99

i think thats a lot, i kept it same and added requirements for admins where it is 99

Should i make the topic now ‘un-lounge’?

It depends

well, we do need responses from the audience

Then change the category.

iA since the day of the forum’s creation is a solo developer so this seems just useless.

and why the hell would it rely on in-game stats

ironic considering the assistance is clearly visible here

This covers most users here. I’d rather have TL3 requirements changed and configured in a way that it’s not revoked automatically for not liking/reading stuff.

The game is not tied to the forum, even if it looks like that.

None of the aforementioned requirements would change in 2 weeks except for 2 days of read time.

The said mod or admin wouldn’t like to take responsibility for someone’s actions in 80% of cases.

“Sell me this flagged post”? What would be there to check if the requirements were already listed?

Unrelated.

Personal information. The administrator would be able to see the email of the account either way if you only put the username.

#lounge.

TL3.

Literally anyone.

How would you measure the effectiveness?

Vague.

If regular users are not revoked of the ability to watch, I don’t see why this has to be listed separately.

Haven’t changed for years, and when they did it was caused by an exceptional case.

This sounds contradicting. After 1 year on the forum you’d already have more even if you aren’t very active.

The only thing TL3 currently means for a user is that he can like posts, read posts and write posts, and he does this continuously.

Irrelevant.

This suggests that there’s something higher…
Tier 120

1 month. Nothing will change in 1 month.

This is separate from the previous point for reasons which are not mentioned anywhere.

Don’t make it a fighting area @Clover :expressionless_face:

I’m just kidding

ig no then
thanks for your post, it cleared a lot of things
I like how you all have given response on this idea, but i still think that there should be atleast 3 admins, no mods, no trainees, just 3 admins. this would make the forum more safer, dont you think? iA have his own life and hes not online for like half of the day

For the in-game requirements (username-tier-playtime), i thought it would make staff know more about the game than normal players but as vermishelb said

i think it is pretty useless

again thanks if you are reading this and i am sorry for not being ‘well-researched’ and made the topic in a hustle, i promise i would take care next time :D‎

I’ve heard something similar so long ago that there was no early access version released back then. Multiple moderators concepts were suggested several times and none were accepted.

This is debatable. Bad moderation may be worse than no moderation at all sometimes. Either way, iA checks the forum periodically, so no bad deed goes unpunished for too long. The forum is not big and it’s unlikely for it to suddenly grow much, which is why the current way of things keeps working, more or less.
