why there is a solution button
I don’t know, maybe it still detects this topic as a question, althought it’s just about sharing score and tier.

It doesn’t detect anything, the solution button is always there.

If someone creates a topic where he has a problem and someone writes how to solve it then the person that created the topic can mark it as a solution so others having the same problem can easily see how to solve it.
For example see this topic:
How to get New User of the Month badge?
(and use it only on topics where there is a problem to solve not on topics like here)
What detects? It’s a freaking Discourse forum not some kind of AI that automatically learns the purpose of topics and displays only necessary buttons.

Yes, because it can’t detect what the topic is about. So it leaves this job for users and displays it everywhere.
