🌎 How to translate the game

Why does one of them lack the period?
ĐžĐ·ĐŸĐ±Ń€Đ°Đ¶Đ”ĐœĐžĐ”

Long time no see, everyone! I had trouble opening translation-ko.xls.(‘ko’ means Korean. lol)
As you can see in the picture, when you open the document, there is only a blank space without any content.
I opened it in another spreadsheet editor and copy & pasted the entire contents into Excel. It fixed the problem, but something definitely seems wrong. Maybe the .xls file format itself is the problem.
Plus, and when I try to upload a file with this issue by pressing ctrl + g, the CIU client immediately crashes. IA Studios, have I found another bug?

This phrase has been translated wrong and it became very popular (Ű§Ù„ŰȘŰ§Ű±ÙŠŰź _Ű§Ù„Ù…Ű§Ű¶Ù‰_Ù‚ŰšÙ„). which is very long and makes it hard to read. (In the Arabic language)

Can this translation be deleted and replaced with the correct translation? (Ù‚ŰšÙ„)
Also the Arabic language doesn’t have an offical translator.

This is important because this phrase will appear in the episodes and later it will be unchangeable.

In my experience “raw” text formats are unreliable, and a recipe for disaster (e.g. incorrect import that you don’t discover until several weeks later)

If I was going to export anything of the sort, it would be a UTF-8 tab-separated file. And I’d expect the same kind of file back. But even in this case, I would be relying on the spreadsheet program and/or the user to perform the export/import correctly :grimacing:

I fixed this at some point.

I tried exporting the Korean today and the .xls seems to work.

Please send me your .xls file (or post it here) and I will investigate

What is this phrase in English?

The translators literally translated every single word of it even though it should be one word.

Added you.

uses latin numbers in network settings and more below (using arabic)

this too (sorry kapet)

some comp titles don’t have the day inside the parentheses, for example ironman;

Cause the numbers are not translated. We change the numbers in Persian. we have no problem.

This one is because the phrase used Latin numbers. I’ve changed it.

Couldn’t fix it, but I’ve removed the parentheses from the translations and replaced them with a colon, re-download the Arabic language.

how the fuck did ci2’s tracks turn into a harvard acceptance letter

some of you can’t spell

no arabic numbers (there are more than these btw)

ŰźÙ„ÙÙŠŰ© Ù†ŰŹÙ…ÙŠŰ©

the subject should follow the adjective (ŰźÙ„ÙÙŠŰ© Ù†ŰŹÙ…ÙŠŰ©)

"Ù†ŰÙ† Ù†Ù‚Ű”ŰŻ ‘ŰȘŰŹÙ…ÙŠÙ„ÙŠâ€™ should be

no explanation mark

Fixed all of this.

time to hunt for french inconsistencies

“Dialogue d’hĂ©ros”
image

“une address e-mail”
image

noticed that some phrases have a space before an exclamation mark, like this
image

dates don’t have capital letters

numbers without decibels look weird

médallies

is this a ci1 reference (this is squawk block)
image

the corn technically isn’t popped so it should be “mais”
image

bro’s a sigma (ac/dc reference) (thundercluck theme)

Yeah, French is an inconsistency itself

« héros » has a h aspiré, so « du héros ».
« un e-mail » but « une adresse mail » (or even « une adresse courriel » but let’s not go there)
Always an espace fine insécable before/after certain punctuation marks.
Months never have capital letters.
The thousands separator is, again, an espace fine insécable.
« DĂ©corations » is a backport from previous episodes, and it makes sense because « MĂ©dailles » wouldn’t include trophies.
« Invasion Ă  l’ancienne » is a riff on the culinary phrase « Ă  l’ancienne » because of the “old game”/homage feel, not CI1 in particular.
« Pétoire à pop-corn » is also a backport, and it makes sense because it sounds better (pétoire and pop alliterate and have the same explosive meaning).
There’s gonna be lots of puns on « gallinacĂ© » to make up for “hen” and the like, I’m amazed this one was even possible.

Now, if you want things that are “cursed”, look no further than the title of the CI1 DLC and some of the horrendously-dad-pun wave titles I’ve come up with

Oh, don’t worry, there’s an explanation for every detail but some of them aren’t obvious, so I’m happy to discuss those ^^ There isn’t one final perfect translation, it’s a work that’s never finished, there’s always a choice to make between possibilities: it’s a good thing to question those choices and to have alternatives.
(Except when it comes to typography, I’m a tyrant about its code.)

Why is this section not translated?

In Arabic, The Asteroid Belt is replaced by Jupiter (notice the wave and points counter being identical to avoid confusions)

The error has been fixed already. It’s just the error was applied to CIep2 before it got fixed.

I can’t do anything about it, Just wait until the next update of the episodes comes out.

Strangely, no one reported this bug.
In RTL languages which contain custom numbers.

ÙąÙŠ should be beside ÙĄÙ  not Ù§,ÙŁÙŁÙ©, Corrected version:

Also shouldn’t the topic category be CIU Development instead of Early access?
