There is small space between the ship and bullets. It is not important, but when the most part of the game will be done, I think this need to be fixed later.

What’s more important about the Boron Railgun (and the Hypergun and Moron Railgun as well) is this.
As this pic demonstrates, the shine from firing those weapons always ends up spawning at the tip of the ship. If it also spawned at the weapon pods, then it would not look as odd.
