Episode 1 BETA

obraz
since this was posted most of the games require 1 more completion to get everything
and as mentioned before, if there was an “episode bonus”, only episodes 2 and 4 would need it, maybe episode 1 as well

Why isn’t a new episode made? Why are you re-posting old episodes and uploading something new?

A complication has arisen. For Steam, I’m looking into bundling the Episodes for free as a separate launch option (different .exe) within the existing listings (this is the least terrible option so far). If this happens, then there is no concept of “unlocking” the game – it comes already unlocked/purchased. So a key cost would also need to be assigned to all options currently requiring purchase/unlocking.

Oh my gosh, this is really amazing but there was an huge problem in my advice (or least in my opinion).

Problem 1:
what about an ability to play the episodes in ciu if ppl purchased the original games in steam? (excluding episode 1 because it’s going to be separated as an brand new game) like using your e-mail from your ciu account then transfer the episode to ciu instantly or something.

Problem 2:
the original games have achivements and leaderboards for individual runs (not in-game but for more curious steam versions) but it’s going to be compatible with the episodes? (especially some brand new achivements will come in for perspectively diffculties)

Problem 3:
did you have tried to contact jeremy in steam support to coordinate how it will handle this for current owners of original games to receive the episode for free instead bundling in existing episodes? because it’s really dumb to bundle it in the existing episodes than an new game.

That is going to happen anyway if I bundle both the legacy+Episode in the same Steam listing (since purchases are interchangeable between Episodes and CIU)

No

I prefer this from having two separate “Chicken Invaders 2” and "“Chicken Invaders Episode 2”.
Besides, there are always going to be players who prefer the legacy originals, so this way they’ll have that option.

Speaking of. Since you are embracing the launch options way. Could it be possible (I know it is possible, but are you willing to) to upload the original legacy version of CI2 on Steam? Before the episode and before the remaster.

might as well make an entry for ci1 too, it was never available on steam

Not really, probably there will be plenty of chance that he doesn’t have the source code or still has the source code for legacy versions of original the next wave prior to the remaster before bringing it on steam.

CI2 legacy is available to download on IA’s site:

I’m asking for Steam because I have all CI games there and only CI5 on IA’s site.

Is the $5 price tag listed below currently allowed for the first two episodes?

That will necessarily be a new listing.

No. IIRC that version of the engine didn’t t have support for Steam and, even if it did, it would just create maintenance costs for something that is unsupported. Use IA registrations for that.

That’s only a placeholder value. Ignore it for now.

I can’t play the game…

Server BETA is off-line now, bro.

Oh, okay, where can I see when it’s online or how do you know that it’s offline?

You just sometimes you take a time to check out the game that BETA is online or not.

Also, not to worry about the official releasing version in the nearby future, which you can almost play Episodes without Internet.

Can I see whether server is online or offline somewhere?

It’s on at IA’s will and with the recent update, I doubt we’ll see any beta sessions now.

Ah, okay, gotcha, thanks.
