That seems like the best solution. So far on forum I haven’t seen anything positive that was related to this medal.
Or idk, change it to instead of rewarding you for having 100k keys stored on your account, the player will be rewarded with a medal for “earning 100k keys via gameplay”. It shouldn’t cause any problems.

Except that this is not a pay to win game. You can have hitbox shrinkers and everything without spending a single buck, and even with all the quirks and perks you can have, you will still die if you suck at avoiding projectiles. Also, depending on the mission type, you can actually loose keys if you use too much of these perishable perks to help you.
Buying keys in this game wouldn’t be a game-breaker or a pay to win, really.

P2W is when microtransactions are used to buy something other than cosmetics (and to be more specific something that changes the gameplay to be easier). And in CIU you have spaceships, weapons, weapon upgrades, spaceship parts so you can call it P2W. Little P2W, but still P2W.
Which again, it’s pointless if you suck, because you will die anyway. And given that paying wouldn’t bring anything exclusive (meaning, literally the same that you would get without paying), I really don’t understand the drama about purchasing keys. Call it ‘paying for not repeating the same mission 200 times in which you do to farm keys because you know you won’t die anyway’.
Skipping the grinding is literally the textbook definition of P2W.
