Taking the Beam weapon, I ended up in the asteroid belt, where I was forced to gain a charge and shoot it. At some point, a “purple curving ray” fell from the asteroid, which I grabbed - but at the same time, the overheating scale still filled up, as if I continued to gain charge for a shot! And this happened regardless of whether I shot or just flew. The bug disappeared after restarting the game.
It’s called the Plasma Rifle
The bug has been reported and will be fix in v.37
