Boss Idea #8: ╔ 🚧 ╗ Boss Of The Barrier(s)

Thou may never know such common things you often meet in normal waves would be the deadly weapons of a boss…


Boss having ability to manipulating things is an interesting topic in this game. We have Magnetic Manipulator which can use asteroid as an offensive tool; Feather Brain can throw feathers at player or arrange them as a damage resistance. So today I introduce to you a boss with ability of manipulating barriers. Here’s the design concept:

At 100% difficulty, its health will be 288,200; slightly higher than most big chicken bosses in CIU. Here’s its attack concepts at this difficulty too.


First, for people having problem with the gifs below. Note that beside watching the vid, you have to read the text provided with the gif images for more necessary information.


1) Rotating Barriers System

This is the first attack to begin the fight. The boss will summon a circle of barriers outside like the image above; inside it is a circle of four red-neutron-shooting barriers which is indestructible. Two circles will rotate in two opposite directions.

2) Falling Barriers Block

Six blocks of barriers will be thrown while the boss is travelling from the left to the right top corner (there will be another variety, right → left). There will be two destructible blocks arranged randomly in six places (The ones not having an egg barrier inside).

3) Barriers Quake Waves

The boss will quickly move to a side of the screen, then throw eight curved barrier walls to the other side.

Further update: Barriers moving speed should be slower.

4) Double Barriers Spreading

The boss will stay at a random position on the upper half of the screen, then throw a spread of 6 x 2 barriers to the lower half. The angular width of this attack is 180 degree. Then it will travel to another position and throw the next spread. There’ll be total 3 spreads in this attack.

Note: After using the attack 1 as the first move, the order will be randomized.
